Hello Seduction (Playlist 07.05.15)

Okay, considering the content of this playlist I may request that my mother-in-law and any grandparents look away. I know that there are a lot of people completely comfortable taking about sexual happenings online and with other people but for me I worry a little that I may be judged for this. Especially with how conservative some members of my family are. Not that I am judging them. In reality I have a very high respect for them, but the thing is… I am about to divulge a PG 13 playlist, so grams you can’t say I didn’t warn you.

Sometimes I like to think of myself as this little child and I like to think that is how my family sees me too. Not as the young married women I am. Kind of like when you get physical with someone before marriage, people may assume things but the moment your married suddenly you feel exposed knowing that people know what you do. Strange, yes, but factual. I am confident that nobody in my family thinks about what David and I do as married people but it doesn’t make me feel any less exposed. My mom and I have always been close and she was one of the first people I talked to when I lost my virginity but it doesn’t mean that we have have discussions about my sex life. I am beyond comfortable walking around Wall-Mart  with tampons because mentioning that I have a period doesn’t bother me but talking about sex and admitting that I have it is another story. You, can’t tell me I am alone on this.

After our wedding day my family threw us a brunch the next morning so that David and I could spend more time with his family before they left for Tennessee. You see I barely know my in-laws because we have always lived across the country from them. Driving from Washington to Tennessee for Christmas wasn’t exactly in our budget. So we agreed to have this pre-honeymoon brunch. Talk about awkward. When a couple leaves after their wedding we all shamelessly think “These two are about to get freaky!” and the last thing you want to do is walk into a crowded room the next morning. People look at you differently. Even if you weren’t a virgin when you got married suddenly people KNOW that your not. It’s the vicious cycle of adulthood.

Anyways, at this point I am way off topic. Upon listening to the radio this week I noticed that there were some pretty heated sex songs. And no, I am not talking about those hip-hop songs that talk about getting down or how hot “some chick” is. I am taking about the songs that make your eyebrows raise and say, “wow that was intense!”  The songs that you may play to set the mood or get into the mood.

Well, like I said, this playlist is PG 13 so probably not suited for my younger siblings and nieces & nephews but they are great songs just the same. Some top-notch poetry…Enjoy.

Magic: Coldplay

Let’s Get Started: Dylan Gardner
